What FCA Does

Funeral Consumers Alliance of Central Ohio provides information about end-of-life issues to individuals through consumer education outreach, including group presentations, printed materials, personal consultations, local price surveys and membership benefits. To do this we monitor the meetings of the State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors and routinely survey the costs and activities of central Ohio funeral homes to provide the public with cost comparisons and to determine compliance with Federal Trade Commission regulations.

In addition, FCACO is able to negotiate favorable terms with select funeral establishments (due to our large membership). FCACO members choose the arrangements they desire in advance.

FCACO Mission Statement:

  1. To promote end-of-life planning and preparation
  2. To outline practical steps to be taken before death
  3. To inform and instruct the public concerning the funeral industry
  4. To offer reasonably priced options for dealing with remains at death
  5. To monitor the funeral industry on a local and statewide level
  6. To maintain public awareness and wariness through action, education and publication
NO FEES OR PREPAYMENTS ARE REQUIRED TO BE MADE TO THE FUNERAL ESTABLISHMENT WHEN JOINING, ALTHOUGH PREPAYMENT OF ANY PLAN IS POSSIBLE.
